Dr. Matt Heavner is a native of North Carolina and attended Davidson College where he played football and majored in psychology. He attended medical school at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery internship and urologic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. There, he had extensive training in various techniques in urologic surgery, from open abdominal surgery to minimally invasive techniques including robotic and endoscopic approaches to the management of urologic conditions.
Dr. Heavner is interested in all areas of urology with a focus on minimally invasive robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer, endoscopic treatment of kidney stone disease, and treatment of BPH. Dr. Heavner also has an interest in the medical and surgical treatment of erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease, including placement of prosthetic devices.
In his free time, Dr. Heavner enjoys cooking, cycling, and spending time with his family.
